Entry requirements for Ecuador Mainland

Upon arrival, all passengers must sign a health declaration form with their itinerary and local contact details.  Travelers to Ecuador must provide a negative RT-PCR test taken within 72 hours before their arrival or present a vaccination card with the complete scheme of COVID-19 vaccine, issued at least 14 days before entering the country.

Entry requirements for Galapagos Islands

All passengers 16 years old onwards must present the following: Vaccination card against COVID-19 with the complete scheme (one or two shots depending on the vaccine, the final dose must be taken at least 14 days before traveling), and a mandatory negative RT-PCR test no more than 72 hours before your flight to Galapagos. For passengers between 2 and 16 years old:  It is mandatory a negative RT- PCR for COVID- 19, taken within 72 hours before the date of your arrival to the Galapagos.   In addition to these requirements, tourists must complete the traffic control card issued by the Galapagos Government Council. You can pick this card up from the Galapagos Government Council counter located in Quito or Guayaquil airports. All international visitors are required to pay an entry fee to enter the Galapagos National Park. You can pay this in cash upon arrival to the islands.

At the airports, keep in mind to:

  • Only people carrying a ticket will be allowed inside the airport terminal.
  • One companion will be allowed for underage or disabled persons traveling alone. 
  • Use your protection mask at all times. 
  • Keep a 2-meter (6 feet) distance from other travelers. 
  • Use the different sanitizing devices located across the airports .
  • Observe the body temperature checkpoints. 
  • Follow the signs to airline check-in procedures. Counter-check-in zones are marked. 
  • At the departure lounge, use the seats indicated to keep the social distance. 

Capacity in Tourist Establishments

The capacity allowed in tourist establishments due to COVID-19 in Galapagos is 50% of the total capacity. 

Preventive Measures 

  • Wash hands with soap and water frequently and use a disinfectant based on alcohol. 
  • Avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth .
  • Maintain good hygiene of the respiratory tract. That means covering your mouth and nose with your elbow bent or with a tissue when you cough or sneeze; discard it immediately after use.  
  • Keep a minimum distance of 2m between you and anyone. 
  • In case of fever, cough, and shortness of breath, seek medical attention and call ahead. 

Staff

Our tour leaders and guides have a complete vaccination scheme against COVID -19. Before starting a long trip, they have to take a COVID-19 test.
